# Server Installation

AWS and Vultr will not work with this software. Before renting a server, make sure that the Windows version you are using is Windows 2016.

## Step 1. Configure the Server

The first thing you'll need to do when installing on a server, is to open up the server manager

To do this, simply click the start menu and select **`Server Manager`**

Click **`Configure this local server`**

Then look for:
&#x20;**`IE Enhanced Security Configuration`**

Make sure both *Administrator* and *Users*
&#x20;are turned off, then click **`OK`**

## Step 2. Install

Now that you've completed the server configuration, you are all set to download and install Scottbot.&#x20;
Just follow our [Windows installation guide](/getting-started/install/windows-installation.md) to complete setting up Scottbot on your server.
